What Window & Door Upgrades Make The
Biggest Difference for Spokane Homes?

Quality Products & Materials That Perform Well
Over The Long Haul In Our Region

At NIB (Northwest Integrity Builders), we're often helping Service Area homeowners get more comfort, efficiency, and value from their homes with better windows and doors. Paired with our In-House Workmanship, you get tight installs, clean finishes, and upgrades that make a real difference in how your home looks, feels, and performs.

What Window & Door Materials Does NIB
Install Most Around Spokane Metro?

Most of our window and door projects use a handful of Versatile Products that hold up well in our climate and deliver the best long-term value. The only exceptions would be something far more niche, which does come around from time to time.

Various Vinyl Window Brands

There are plenty of quality vinyl window brands out there, and most homeowners have heard of a few. The good news is that many offer solid performance, dependable warranties, and options that fit a wide range of budgets. Vinyl is versatile, low-maintenance, and energy-efficient, making it one of the most common choices we install.

Exterior Clad Wood Windows

Aluminum-clad windows are great for homeowners who want a higher-end look for their Living Spaces without the upkeep of exposed wood. You get wood's warmth and character on the inside, paired with a tough aluminum shell. These windows fit well in older homes, custom builds, and projects where style matters as much as performance.

Fiberglass Exterior Doors

Fiberglass doors are a popular upgrade we install because they hit the spot between durability, efficiency, and low maintenance. They don't warp, swell, or rot, and handle Spokane's weather swings. With solid cores, realistic textures, and strong insulation, fiberglass doors offer the look homeowners want with the long-term performance they expect.

Solid Wood Exterior Doors

Solid wood exterior doors bring a level of "it factor" you can't get from other materials. They're a great fit for homeowners who want a richer, more traditional look and don't mind a bit of upkeep to protect the wood. With the right sealants and proper installation, wood doors offer excellent strength, a custom feel, and a noticeable boost in curb appeal.

What Do Most Of Your Window & Door Projects
Look Like On Spokane Metro Homes?

Most window and door work comes down to doing the basics right, like solid prep, careful installation, and clean finishing. At NIB, our Culture of Accountability shows up in every step: straight lines, tight seals, proper flashing, and workmanship that holds up over time.

1

During Larger Remodels

Most of our window and door work is part of bigger projects – kitchens, bathrooms, layout changes, Home Additions, etc. When walls open & spaces shift, it's perfect to add light, re-center, move a window, or replace an old unit that no longer fits the plan.

2

Rebuild/Adjust Openings

Once the old unit is removed, we rebuild or adjust the opening so everything fits your new design. That might mean correcting crooked framing, resizing the opening, insulating properly, or adding structural support. Also pretty common.

3

Window & Door Replacements

For new installs, we set windows and doors square, level, and sealed tight. A full-frame install lets us flash, insulate, and integrate cleanly with surrounding materials. Interior trim, exterior cladding, sealants, and final details are handled with care.

What Sets NIB Apart When It Comes To
Window & Door Installations?

NIB has always been a word of mouth company – and that says a lot about how we build.

Homeowners recommend us because our work is steady, our communication is clear, and our results hold up. Our Full-Time Project Presence means someone from our team is always on-site, keeping details tight.

We take accountability seriously – whether adjusting a rough opening mid-remodel or finishing trim so it looks like it's always been there. Simple approach, but it's what's kept us trusted across Spokane Metro.

FAQ

Questions About Window & Door Installation?
Consider Us Your Go-To For Answers

Of course. We're locals who've been building homes in Spokane Metro for a really long time. Here are questions we get routinely.

Can NIB Just Replace My Windows?

Yes. We can install roughly 10-12 a day if they're smaller windows and 8-10 for regular-sized. For larger, or more custom windows, the trend continues. Swap-outs can be quick. We do a lot of resizing or retrosizing, which can take longer.

Better To Replace Windows Before Or After Other Exterior Work?

Window replacement is typically best done before other exterior work. Windows sit behind trim and siding. They rely on proper integration with those layers to perform as intended. Installing new siding or trim first often means having to remove it later to replace windows, which isn't ideal.

What Surprises Tend To Come Up Once Old Windows Are Removed?

In the Spokane Metro area, we still have many older homes with original wood windows with built-in counterweights made of metal or iron. These weights sit inside the wall cavity and require open space to move, which means insulation was often minimal or nonexistent. When the old windows are removed, those wall cavities are exposed and must be properly insulated to eliminate cold spots and improve energy performance. This is a common condition in older homes, and we account for it during window replacement.

How To Phase Window Replacement If Remodeling Over Time?

One wall at a time is usually the best approach. This allows siding, trim, and flashing details to be addressed consistently on each elevation, rather than mixing old and new materials in a way that's hard to manage later. Phasing work this way helps keep your exterior balanced while allowing your project to move forward over time.

Replace Exterior Doors Before/After Other Exterior Projects?

Similar to windows, it's best to replace your exterior doors before new siding, trim, or other exterior finishes are installed. Doors also need proper flashing and integration with surrounding materials to manage water effectively. Completing these openings first ensures everything is built in the correct order and reduces the need for rework later.
