In some cases, previous siding was installed as a layover rather than being fully removed. Seriously. It's more common than you might think. Siders would rather just side over things than do a tear-off, handle what's under there, do repairs, etc. We also frequently see older construction methods, such as exterior shiplap instead of modern wall sheathing. Once those layers are exposed, it becomes clear why proper removal matters. That's why we take siding down to the structural layer and rebuild exteriors correctly, rather than covering issues and hoping for the best.

Water management is built into every step of our siding process. We focus on proper sealing at all transitions where siding meets trim, around openings, and at the start and end of each run.
